From 19 to 23 May, our students studying for BTS NDRC (Negotiation and Digitalisation of Customer Relations) and BTS MCO (Operational Sales Management) qualifications had the opportunity to take part in an educational trip to Bulgaria, rich in cultural, professional and human discoveries.
Hosted by the Miniu Balkanski Foundation near Stara Zagora, the students explored a country with a fascinating history and innovative initiatives, combining tradition, modernity and openness to Europe.

A programme combining culture, economics and commerce
Supervised by Yana and Nina, the students enjoyed a series of highlights throughout the week:
- Discovering the region’s wine heritage: tasting local wines and learning about Bulgarian wine-making traditions
- Meeting with Sophie Guérardi-Bakalova, President of the Miniu Balkanski Foundation
- Visit to the historical museum and planetarium in Stara Zagora to learn about the country’s cultural and scientific heritage
- Conference on e-commerce at the University of Thrace: an immersion in digital practices in international trade
- Visit to an aquaponics centre and the Veterinary Faculty museum
- Exploration of Plovdiv, its old town and ancient theatre
- Guided tour of Sofia, a dynamic and modern capital city
A packed and varied programme, designed to connect the BTS curriculum with professional and cultural realities abroad.
A seminar that makes a difference
This trip to Bulgaria is a real differentiating factor of the BTS programme offered at EKLYA School of Business.
Unlike work-study BTS programmes in secondary schools or other schools, EKLYA offers its students practical international experience directly related to their future careers.
It is a unique opportunity to experience business in a different way. This type of project connects theory and practice, giving meaning to learning while broadening our students’ professional and personal horizons.
A big thank you to CFA IFIR for coordinating this project, as well as to our Bulgarian partners for their warm welcome, availability and commitment.
