Semester Exchange Program
Presentation of the training
The International Business Certificate – Semester Exchange Programme is designed for international students who wish to experience a semester of study in France within a dynamic and multicultural academic environment. Offered by EKLYA School of Business in Lyon, the programme provides up to 39 ECTS credits per semester, allowing students to select modules according to the academic requirements of their home institution.
Launched in 2020, this programme has welcomed students from numerous countries including Mexico, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, and Belgium. It aims to foster intercultural understanding, academic growth, and professional development within the field of international business management.

Objectives of the semester Exchange Program
The International Business Certificate offers participants the opportunity to:
Deepen their understanding of international business development and management practices.
Gain insight into the French and European socio-economic and cultural environment.
Engage in professional and cultural immersion activities in Lyon and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.
Strengthen their communication and intercultural skills through academic and practical learning experiences.
program structure
The programme is organised into five thematic blocs, covering both academic and practical learning components. Each bloc combines theoretical knowledge with case studies, projects, and company visits. Students may select modules in consultation with their home university to meet their individual academic goals.

Bloc 4 : Economic and Financial Analysis
- Analysis of existing markets

Professional & Cultural Experience
Beyond academic coursework, the programme emphasises immersion in the French professional and cultural environment. Students participate in company visits, guided cultural excursions, and local events, including the Erasmus+ Days celebrations. These experiences are designed to foster networking, intercultural understanding, and engagement with the local community.
Admission
The International Business Certificate – Semester Exchange Programme welcomes applicants through three main pathways:
- As a direct student who wishes to join the programme independently.
- As an Erasmus+ exchange student.
- As a direct exchange student from a partner university with a signed exchange agreement.
Applicants are expected to have a minimum English proficiency level of B1 or equivalent. Courses are delivered entirely in English, and students should be prepared to engage in active learning and teamwork. Students should have completed at least 1 year of university studies at their home institution and be in a good academic standing.
Application deadline: mid-June for Fall semester (we do not accept exchange students in Spring semester, except in our French taught courses, please contact us for further instructions).

Practical Information
The semester runs from September to December each year. A ‘Guide to Practical Life in Lyon’ is provided to all incoming students, offering guidance on accommodation, daily life, transportation, and local activities. EKLYA also organises multiple social and cultural events to help international students integrate and make the most of their stay in Lyon.
