Online Exchange Projects (OEP)
at EKLYA
Since 2020, in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic, EKLYA and HYBRIA have been organizing Online Exchange Projects (OEP) in collaboration with academic partners worldwide. Originally designed to maintain international student interactions during travel restrictions and social distancing measures, these virtual exchange programs have now become an integral part of our schools’ offer. While students are now able to travel again, many still face barriers—whether due to financial difficulties, health conditions, disabilities, or work commitments. The OEP ensures that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have access to international collaboration opportunities.

Connecting students
beyond borders
The OEP provides students from different universities and cultures with the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, develop cross-cultural communication skills, and collaborate on international projects—all from the comfort of their homes.
By leveraging virtual platforms, we break down geographical barriers and enable enriching exchanges that contribute to our students’ academic and personal growth. In a world where companies operate across multiple continents, future professionals will inevitably work in globally dispersed teams. The OEP prepares students for this reality, helping them develop the skills necessary to collaborate effectively in multicultural environments.
A project born from necessity,
now a core experience
During the early years, the OEP gained immense popularity as it allowed students to remain connected with the world despite travel restrictions. For EKLYA and HYBRIA, whose programs emphasize academic mobility, the OEP became a vital solution to ensure international exposure when physical exchanges were not possible. Even as travel opportunities have resumed, we continue to believe in the value of these online exchanges as a complement to traditional mobility programs. More importantly, the OEP is no longer just an emergency alternative—it is now a permanent and inclusive solution that allows students from all backgrounds to engage in international experiences.

Expanding
challenges our global network
What started as a collaboration between EKLYA, HYBRIA, Ritsumeikan University in Japan and ETU Leti in Russia has grown to include new partners such as EUA in Armenia and NU in the Czech Republic. Every year, we strive to expand our network and enhance the diversity of our participants, ensuring an increasingly global experience for all involved. By working on projects with students from different cultures and backgrounds, participants develop adaptability and cultural awareness—key assets in the modern workforce.
Overcoming
challenges & looking forward
With the return of international mobility and in-person activities, recruiting students for OEP has become more challenging. Additionally, scheduling across multiple time zones requires careful coordination to accommodate participants from different regions. However, we continue to refine the program to ensure it remains accessible, engaging, and beneficial to all students. In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams is a critical skill. The OEP is more than just an alternative to physical exchange—it is a forward-thinking initiative that reinforces our commitment to global education and professional readiness.
We invite students, faculty, and academic partners to join us in shaping the future of international collaboration through innovative digital experiences. For more information on how to participate in our next OEP, please contact us or visit our website.
